ToxStrategies LLC is seeking a principal ecotoxicologist or ecological risk assessor to join our expanding Health consulting practice or Exposure Sciences practice. Key Responsibilities:
- Ecotoxicology Assessments:
Conduct ecotoxicological evaluations to assess the impact of chemicals on ecosystems, wildlife, and non-target organisms in various environments (e.g., aquatic, terrestrial). - Data Analysis and Modeling:
Analyze and synthesize technical information and data, using statistical methods, modeling, and software tools to assess and predict environmental risk. - Manage a portfolio of clients across various industries, such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, and government agencies.
- Directly engage with clients to develop strategic scopes of work for addressing environmental and ecological risk challenges and present project team’s findings.
- Provide scientific support for clients navigating regulatory frameworks and risk assessment processes related to chemical exposures, and environmental and ecological impacts.
- Develop new client relationships and expand existing relationships.
- Supervise and mentor early career ecotoxicologists and environmental scientists.
- Develop and maintain professional status by authoring peer-reviewed publications, and participation in technical conferences and activities of professional societies
Essential Qualifications:
- Educational Background:
- Ph.D. in Ecotoxicology, Freshwater Ecology, Wildlife Ecology, Applied Ecology, Environmental Science, Marine Sciences, or related field
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in ecotoxicology or environmental toxicology outside of the Ph.D. program, with an interest in applying this knowledge to assess risks to ecosystems and human health.
- Experience in managing early career technical staff
- Experience in a professional consulting services firm highly preferred.
- Skills:
- Recognized subject matter expert in ecotoxicology, ecological risk assessment or environmental impacts
- Data analysis and proficiency in using statistical software or programming tools (e.g., R, Excel, SAS).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical writing, reporting, and presentations.
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong business development skills.
- Travel:
- Ability to travel (approximately 25%) for site visits, or client meetings, as needed.
