Abstract
Radiological incidents can be some of the most complex and least understood emergencies. Whether they result from accidental or intentional acts, responding to radiological incidents requires planning and preparation. This chapter provides a high-level overview of considerations for response plans, especially for what should be established at the local level before additional resources become available. This chapter also discusses local equipment and training provisions that are important for responding to radiation emergencies.
